Full Form of REET
Full Form of REET, Rajasthan Eligibility Test for Rajasthan Teachers (REET) is an aptitude test administered by the Rajasthan Ajmer Board of Secondary Education for the selection of class III teachers in Rajasthan.
This exam is conducted in two phases, the first phase for teachers of classes 1 to 5 and the second phase for teachers of classes 6 to 8. After clearing this test, a final list of achievements will be made on the basis of merit obtained—grades obtained in the REET exam and graduation, in which selected candidates are appointed as third-grade teachers.
In the conduct of this examination, the Board of Secondary Education, as the central agency on behalf of the Government of Rajasthan, do all the work from the syllabus to the result. So far, this proficiency test has been conducted four times (2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017) in Rajasthan. In 2011 and 2013, this exam was conducted by RTET, while in 2015 and 2017, the exam was conducted by REET.
To appear in REET Level I exam, a candidate must have passed or taken two years D.Ed course and for REET Level II one year B.Ed or must have taken two years B.Ed.
All the candidates need to secure at least 60 percent marks to clear the REET exam. Candidates getting less than this rating will not be included in the teacher recruitment process. And the candidates securing 60 percent get the Board of Secondary Education Certificate valid for three years.
Required Eligibility level for REET
• Disabled Category: 40 percent
• Saharia tribe: 36 percent
• Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age
• Scheduled Caste (SC), OBC, MBC and Economically Weaker Section: 55 percent
• Widow and abandoned women and ex-servicemen of all categories: 50 percent
• General / Unreserved Category : 60% (TSP & Non TSP)
• Scheduled Tribes (ST): 55 percent (Non-TSP), 36 percent (TSP)
