According to market researcher Statista, Dating Apps in India reach 2.2 % of population but will easily cross 3.6 % by 2024. Bumble, a USA based app in which film star Priyanka Chopra has invested, claims to have subscribers over 4 million.

Datas reveals that the time spent on reading profiles in these dating apps are on increase, so is chats and video calls.

Tinder, another USA based dating app, has become popular as it's Tinder Passport feature allows members to search and chat with others across any place of their choice and not restricted to their own geographical space as in most apps. It is popular in cities like Kanpur, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Pune, Surat and Indore.

Interestingly these dating apps are becoming more popular in tier-two and tier-three towns. This is due to gradual fusion of digital social lives and social lives. Gen next doesn't make a difference in their social experience different from in IRL (in real life).  

New technologies and innovation for better engagements are also making these dating apps popular. Like Tinder has started a face-to-face video calling option, Bumble rolled out dating badges to identify the kind of dates they would prefer going on: socially distanced, virtual, socially distanced with masks etc.
