Edtech startup Kyt raised 18 crores; Plans To Increase Hiring

New EdTech Startup Kyt has raised US $ 2.5 million (appx 18 crore) from various investors to expand its growing business of teaching extracurricular to kids.

Unlike others Edtech companies like Unacademy, Byju, Vendantu etc which offers teaching courses to kids, KYT believes fun based teaching is best way to make kids learn difficult subjects.

The funding was led by Sequoia India scale-up programme Surge and Titan Capital. Several angel investors also joined the funding rounds. They includes:

Kunal Shah from Freecharge, Jitendra Gupta from Jupiter Money and Citrus Pay, Allen Penn ex Uber Eats global head of operations, Amrish Rau from Pine Labs and Martin Li from family office ZF Holdings.

The couple, Tripti Ahuja and Bhavik Rathod has founded the global online first academy for extracurricular learning for kids in 2019. They were previously a founding executive at Uber India and the head of Uber Eats in India and South Asia.

The Edtech deploys cutting edge technologies to provides live lessons to children aged five to 15 years old in private and small groups. Subjects taught are like chess, music and creative writing. It has enrolled around 1,000 students and employees around 20 teachers, which it want to increase to 500 in 2021.

To date, Kyt says that over 1,000 students have taken a course or attended workshops on its platform. It currently has more than 20 teachers on board, with plans to increase this to 500 over the next year.


Fast expanding KYT is gradually ramping up hiring. It presently have vacancy for two jobs, both located at Bangalore, with an option to work remotely.


Technical Lead/ Architect

Senior Product Engineer

15L-30L (lakhs)
